DREAMers Scholarship Fund
Undocumented students face extraordinary barriers when pursuing post-secondary education, even when they perform exceptionally well in high school and are outstanding community members. Their challenges are even greater in states such as South Carolina, one of two states (along with Alabama) in the United States to ban undocumented students from in-state colleges.
Although many states offer in-state tuition to immigrant students, South Carolina is one of six states that actually bars DACA students from receiving any federally-funded student financial aid, including loans, grants and scholarships.
We believe nothing should stand in the way of a college education—not the cost, a student’s immigrant status, or the lack of financial aid. This is why we have created the SC DREAMers Fund to provide scholarships and other support services to DACA students who live in South Carolina.
